Getting Ready for the Next Big Quake in Nepal (Click on hyperlink for the article)
This is an article about preparedness for future earthquake in Nepal. It was published in Time Magazine on Thursday February 3, 2011. I felt this article is relevant to every Nepalese and deserves to be posted in every Nepalese blog post. Nepal lies in an active seismic zone and there could be a big quake anytime in future. Due to the weak geology (specifically in Kathmandu) and poor implementation of building code, the effect of quake similar to recent one in Japan (11th March) would be devastating. We have to learn lesson from recent earthquakes in Haiti, New Zealand, and Japan. Seriously, this is a time to prepare ourselves for the worst case scenario!!!
