Basic Self Defense Moves

1. Wrist escape:
2. Defense against haymaker/sucker punch: three variations (black, red, blue)
a. Push kick
b. Block and counter punch/palm strike/elbow
c. Block and knee
d. Block and Sotomakikomi
e. Block and oshotgari
f. Block and oghoshi,
g. Block and ippon seonagi
h. d, e, f, g + soccer kick/head stump
3. Round house kick defense
a. Block – Sweep Kick
b. Block – punch/palm strike – Takedown
4. Defense against front and rear choke (neck attack):
a. Plucking defense – Groin Kick – Knee - Elbow
b. Rotational defense – Back Elbow – Knee
c. Wedge Plucking – Head Butt – Hip Throw
5. Defense against choke from half guard or side mount
a. Plucking – Throat Push (separation) – Knee Push while grabbing hand – Heel Strike
6. Defense against side headlock
a. Groin strike palm/wrist – Shove through face – Punch
7. Defense against headlock from back
a. Chin turn to side controlling hand – Step out – Knee to groin
8. Defense against front and rear bear hug (over arm and under arm):
9. Defense against rear naked chock
10. Guillotine choke defense
11. Defense on the ground: protecting soccer kick, ground & pound, and back to stand up position

*** Groin attack, head butt, small joint manipulation, and fish-hooking
