Grand Success - Thanks to All - The Finance Minister Dared Not to Come to the Event !!!

By Pokhreli Ranjan on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 8:04pm

Dear friends,

First off, I would like to congratulate all for making this protest event a grand success. The Finance Minister, Bharat Mohan Adhikari was nowhere to be seen in the event. Fearing a huge backlash and public outcry, he rather remained absent in the program. But we went ahead and delivered what we had planned. We distributed the banners against corruption and expressed our dissent. We would like to take this moment to thank all who silently or actively supported our cause by either being present at the protest or by outright boycotting the ANS program. The success of the protest program will remain historic and symbolic in the sense that we hope it will inspire others to stand for the nation, rising above all political and ideological horizons.

We would especially like to thank social media, specially MySansar blog, मेरो मातृभूमी, and Facebook for spreading this protest event. A million thanks to Sir Rameshore Prasad Khanal for being the silverlining of hope. A hope, that a day will surely come, when a million tiny stars will join hands to sparkle the darkest of nights. That we can shape better future of Nepal for generations to come even when the imposing wall of abusive power comes crashing on you and your determined fist bleeds. You are truly our hero, Khanal sire !!

We strongly believe that this momentum of struggle will continue and spread across Nepal and other parts of globe with Nepali diaspora. Inspired by this, a huge number of people are encouraging us to formally create a social activism forum that will work as a watch-dog. Preparations are now underway to create such a transparent democratic network, while remaining vigilant of the risk of being "just another mushrooming organization". Your guidance and suggestions are highly appreciated at ocranjan@gmail.com .

Once again a million thanks for all your goodwill, support and today's success.
