How Do I Disable New Tab Showing Most Visited Sites in Google Chrome?

I guess you landed to this post because you have Google chrome and that shows the history of most visited site when you open a new tab. I personally feel this function of chrome pretty annoying. There are various options available to avoid this situation. However, if want quick fix to stop displaying most visited sites in the new tab, then this post would be for you. This method utilizes a Firefox extension called "Blank New Tab" from DarkByte. I have tried this extension and worked well for me.

How to Open a Blank New Tab?

1. Click on wrench icon update notification, choose Option, click on Extension, and go to the "Get more extensions" (Figure 1 and 2)

2. Search "Blank New Tab" in chrome web store (Figure 3)

3. Now click on Add to Chrome button next to the extension (Figure 3)
4. Open new tab to test. You may need to restart chrome.

Cheers!!!

Do You Want to Come Back to the Normal?
If you no longer want blank tab, then click on wrench icon update notification, choose Option, and click on Extension. Uncheck the Enable box for temporary removal and click on Remove button to uninstall the extension for permanent removal.

If you have any questions, let me know.
