Judo-the gentle way
Judo (柔道, meaning "gentle way") is a Japanese martial art created by by Dr. Jigoro Kano in 1882. It is a refinement of the ancient martial art of Jujutsu (柔術). The aim of judo is to utilize physical and mental strength most effectively. In broader sense, Judo is an art, a discipline, a means of self defense or combat and a way of life. It is best known for its spectacular throw or takedown but is also involve grappling maneuver to pin/immobilize opponent or, joint lock, trangle hold or choke to force opponent to submit.Ethos of Judo is base on two main principles Seiryoku Zenyo(精力善用)and Jita Kyoei (自他共栄). Seiryoku Zenyo translates to maximum efficient or worthy use of human efforts (the most effective way of doing something) and Jita Kyoei translates to mutual benefit.
